Mothers Birthing Circle
"Self-care is not about self-indulgence, it is about self-preservation" Audre Lorde
I host a mothers group in Midrand. We meet once a month on a Friday morning, usually the second Friday of the month. We meet at Isabella's Country Cuisine, Crowthorne Shopping Centre, cnr R55 and Arthur Road in Kyalami/Crowthorn. Mothers pay for their tea, cake or breakfast and R50.
I offer a space where pregnant and new mothers with their babies and toddlers can get together and share. Conversation and interaction with other new mothers is vital in making the transformation to confident mothering. Different topics are explored within the context of what it means to be a mother in todays world. Discussion is honest and open and I create a space where meaningful relationships can develop between mothers in a space of safety. I offer information, practical advice and support regarding many issues relevant to mothers. We discuss all issues pertaining to mothering. Guest speakers and a midwife sometimes join us. All pregnant women and mothers with babies and toddlers are welcome.
